Simple Pesto

I use this pesto for many things! Even though it's not a traditional pesto, it's as simple as a pesto can get and no major appliances needed. Use this for a spread on sandwiches or just for dipping with bread & cheese.

Simple Pesto

10 Fresh Basil Leafs
5 cloves of Garlic
Salt & Pepper
Olive Oil

On a cutting board first julienne the basil and roughly chop the garlic. Combine the two and finely chop the two together. Once finely chopped add the salt & pepper and place in a small dish, like a ramekin. Add the olive oil and let sit so the flavors combine. This will last a while and tastes better after each day passes. I love using this as a spread for our eggplant sandwiches. So good!

Tip: To help chop your garlic to a finer paste add course sea salt. This will help break down the garlic!
