Jalapeno Cheese Pull Apart Bread

Instead of taking the time, if you have it, to make a fresh loaf of jalapeno cheese bread, try this out. Making this is a quick and tasty solution to what could be a tedious process. I made it for a father's day picnic and our guests seemed to really like it. It's too easy to not be good.

Recipe

1 large sourdough loaf
1 lb Colby Jack cheese
1 jalapeno, minced
1 scallion, chopped
2 tbsp butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
First, using a serrated knife cut 1inch vertical slices into the sourdough loaf leaving about an inch connected, without cutting all the way through the bread. Repeat this process by cutting the loaf horizontally, creating squares. Next thinly sliced the cheese and tuck into the breads open pockets! Mince the jalapeno, discarding the seeds, and disburse between layers of bread and cheese. Chop the scallions, add to melted butter and spread across entire loaf. Drizzle any left over butter over the top. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes to melt the cheese and to slightly soften the jalapenos. To serve, set out and pull apart the bread!
Note: if this isn't cheesy enough for you shred more cheddar cheese to sprinkle over the top as it comes out of the oven. Also, adding a little salty Parmesan over the top would be delicious!
